New Hunter Coast Umpire Manager

Roy has a long standing connection with the football community ranging from playing, club administration, league administration at both junior and senior levels including being involved in establishing the Black Diamond AFL and umpiring in both junior and senior competitions.

Since 2007 Roy has been managing and coaching the Newcastle Juniors and has been involved in the AFL Umpire Coach Professional Development Program since its inception in 2007 and is now part of a national working party on umpire coach accreditation.

The Hunter Coast Umpire Manager role will be responsible for the coordination of umpires and relationships between the umpiring group and each of the three groups being Black Diamond Seniors, Newcastle Juniors and Central Coast Juniors to ensure effective pathways are in place for umpires of all abilities.

The Hunter Coast Umpire Manager along with the Black Diamond Umpires’ Coach, Christine Burrows, will work in conjunction to develop, educate and promote umpiring within the region.
