The Toyota AFL Open – Inclusion is an annual representative carnival for male athletes with an intellectual disability.
The carnival not only gives some of Australia’s most talented footballers the chance to represent their State or Territory, but it is also an opportunity to showcase the significant abilities of footballers with an Intellectual Disability to the broader community. Player Eligibility CriteriaSport Inclusion Australia administers the player eligibility process. To compete in the Toyota AFL Open – Inclusion, a player must be: – Male; – 16 years of age, at day one of the Carnival; and – Have an intellectual impairment Sport Inclusion Australia will determine whether an individual has an intellectual disability based on the Sport Inclusion Australia Athlete Registration and Primary Eligibility Guidance Notes. 2024 Toyota AFL Open – Inclusion
The 2024 Toyota AFL Open – Inclusion is scheduled for South Pine Sports Complex, Queensland from November 21st – November 26th. This Carnival attracts teams from every state and territory in Australia.
AFL NSW/ACT is committed to sending a team of 16 players to the carnival to represent the AFL NSW/ACT Rams Inclusion side.
AFL NSW/ACT Rams Training and Trial Sessions
Training and trial sessions are open for all people and no prior AFL experience is required. However, to be eligible for the Inclusion Rams team, players must meet selection criteria. See below details for our Training and Trial sessions:
Canberra: Phillip Oval, Phillip, ACT
Monday 6th May, Monday 3rd June, Monday 8th July, Monday 5th August from 4:30pm – 5:30pm
Sydney Harbour: Ern Holmes Oval, Pennant Hills
Monday 6th May, Monday 3rd June, Monday 8th July, Monday 5th August from 6:30pm – 7:30pm
Greater Western Sydney: Blacktown International Sports Park, Oval 2
Friday 10th May, Friday 7th June, Friday 12th July, Friday 9th August from 5:30pm – 6:30pm
Hunter/Central Coast: Pasterfields Oval, Cameron Park
Monday 6th May, Monday 3rd June, Monday 8th July, Monday 5th August from 5:30pm – 6:30pm
