Melbourne is a long way from Western Sydney. For the players of the Greater Sydney Football Academy, it may as well have been another world.

Congratulations to the Parramatta Goannas for their efforts in establishing this initiative, giving up-and-coming talents a taste for what football looks like in its epicentre and encouraging them along the pathway to the AFL.

TALK MORE PLAY BETTER – GET AHEAD OF THE GAME

Footy is at its best when we all have each other’s backs – on and off the field. The AFL with Movember brings to life Ahead of the Game, a free youth mental health program for community football clubs. The program uses sport – delivered at training, to connect with players, umpires, parents, coaches and volunteers how to talk about mental health, promote resilience and wellbeing. It includes interactive workshops and materials for community teams and their support networks.
