Return to Contact Training & Competition

Returning to training in a safe, hygienic and controlled manner is paramount for the AFL. The safety and wellbeing of our participants is our number one priority and accordingly the AFL Return to Play Framework (Framework) has been developed to ensure we return to play in a safe manner. The Framework has been informed by the National Principles for the Resumption of Sport and Recreation Activities and the AIS Framework for Rebooting Sport in a Post COVID-19 Environment, in consultation with health professionals and leaders in the football industry.

We encourage you all to take the time to planprepare and educate your members prior to the commencement of any activity.

AFL NSW/ACT is approving community football to commence contact training from Wednesday 1 July, and competition play and NAB AFL Auskick to commence from Friday 17 July in adherence with the AFL NSW/ACT Return to Contact Training, Competition & NAB AFL Auskick.

AFL NSW/ACT has received ACT Government approval to allow contact training in groups of up-to 100 for Australian Rules Football from 12:00PM Friday, 19 June 2020 within the ACT.
