In Round 19 of the 2018 Toyota AFL Premiership Season, the GIANTS will be celebrating Multicultural Round on Saturday, July 28 at Spotless Stadium, Sydney Olympic Park.
To acknowledge the diverse nature of our Indigenous game and to profile the exceptional talent of players from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Backgrounds (CALD), AFL NSW/ACT would like to introduce the MULTICULTURAL PLAYER OF THE ROUND AWARD.
To be eligible for nomination, the player(s) should meet the following criteria:
- Must be born overseas or have at least one/or two parents born overseas
- Show leadership potential on and off the field
- Show improvement during the current football season
- Show great attendance (85% of all training sessions and games)
- Show exceptional team spirit
Club representatives can nominate Junior and Senior players by completing the following form by July 13, 2018.
AFL NSW/ACT will be offering a $100.00 gift voucher plus four tickets (GIANTS vs St Kilda on July 28, 2018) to the winner of each division:
- Multicultural Player of the Round Award – Senior Division
- Multicultural Player of the Round Award – Junior Division
Winners will be announced on Monday, July 23, 2018. Winning players and their clubs will be profiled through any local football record, e-newsletters, social media platforms and on the AFL NSW/ACT website on the week commencing July 23, 2018.
