Demons looking for top-notch performance

GGGM has got the better of CAK on two occasions this year and Lenon said the Demons would need to play to their absolute best to score over the Lions.

“Ganmain is a very good finals side – you don’t get the success they’ve had unless you are a very good finals side,” Lenon said.

“We need to have all 22 of our blokes playing their role.

“We can’t afford to have any passengers.

“We need to play consistently well for the full four quarters.”

While admitting CAK will face a “tough challenge” against GGGM, the Demons are expected to name a full-strength team with the exception of young gun Caleb Vearing.

“We have a fit and healthy squad,” Lenon said.

“Our last month has been good and we have prepared well.

“We will give it our best shot and see where that takes us.

“We know it will be a tough challenge but we are looking forward to it.”

This weekend will be a special one for CAK after all of its football and netball teams qualified for the finals.

“Playing finals is what you play sport for,” Lenon said.

“To have all our footy and netball sides in is a great effort by the club.

“It is exciting times that we have the whole club participating.”

The winner of tomorrow’s clash will earn a crack at minor premier Coolamon while the loser will face the victor from Sunday’s elimination final.
