Temora overcomes slow start to beat Marrar

After missing  more than one month of football with a troublesome knee injury, Blackwell came back into the team yesterday as Temora overcame a slow start to win, 11.17 (83) to 6.4 (40).Marrar shocked Temora early with the first three goals of the opening quarter and the Bombers held the Kangaroos goal-less in the first term to lead by 16 points.Temora started to get opportunities in the second quarter and kicked 3.9 while Marrar added two goals to still be ahead by four points at the long break.The third quarter belonged to Temora with the reigning premier banging on four goals and holding Marrar to zero to move ahead by 22 points at the final change.Temora went right on with the job in the final quarter, kicking another four goals to run out comfortable winners.Temora coach Mark Kruger kicked three goals while Blackwell and Zeik Johnston both added two majors apiece for the reigning premiers.Tim McAuley was named as the best player for Temora while Michael Ness worked hard all day for Marrar.In another Farrer League contest yesterday, Northern Jets also overcame a sluggish start to down Coleambally 13.19 (97) to 10.6 (66) at Ardlethan Sportsground.Coleambally led at quarter time and trailed by just two points at half-time before Northern Jets kicked clear in the second half.Northern Jets coach Jamie Grintell finished with three goals while Nathan Hunter won plenty of the ball and was damaging for the victors.
