2016 Joss Group and AFL FDR Grants Announced

AFL NSW/ACT is delighted to announce the successful applicants for the 2016 Joss Group & AFL Community Facility Grant Program.

The following NSW/ACT AFL clubs will receive one of ten $10,000 grants made possible through the generous support of the Joss Group http://www.jossgroup.com.au/ and the AFL Facility Development Reserve.

The grant program, now in its sixth year, has supported over $3,500,000 worth of projects for community clubs and has a strong emphasis on regional NSW/ACT.

The JOSS Group & AFL Community Facility Grant Program was created to assist clubs with small projects with a minimum value of $20,000 and a maximum value of $80,000. Each club must contribute to the project by matching the grant dollar for dollar through cash or in-kind labour. Applicants were judged according to criteria which included the positive short term impact of the project and the immediate benefit to the club.

AFL NSW/ACT CEO, Sam Graham, was delighted to see the continued success of the grant program.

“The AFL is committed to providing great infrastructure and improving environments for our community clubs and volunteers,” he said.

“AFL NSW/ACT would like to thank the Joss Group for their continued support of the program – which supports 10 projects per year across our community”.

The successful clubs are now responsible for completing their projects by March 31, 2016.

David Lawson, AFL NSW/ACT Infrastructure Planning Manager, spoke of the partnership between Joss Group and AFL NSW/ACT, “this partnership has been valuable in leveraging other stakeholders to contribute towards projects including local councils, government bodies, and other groups.”

“It is important to have clubs playing at safe and appealing facilities to ensure they are sustainable. We wish the clubs the very best with the construction process and look forward to seeing the projects completed”.
