TIM BEARD SET FOR 400 GAMES

Words written by long time fellow umpire & friend Greg Walsh.

This week we are honoured to be writing about another member of the umpiring fraternity who has reached a great milestone. Tim Beard is umpiring his 400th senior match this Saturday at Robertson Oval.

Congratulations from all the members of the RUA and AFL Riverina umpiring bodies.

This is a tremendous achievement as Tim has overcome a major illness and took some years away from umpiring. To come back and umpire at the standard that he does and maintain his health and fitness levels is amazing. His dedication to his umpiring and to the development of umpiring throughout the Riverina is second to none.  Tim has umpired in the Riverina for the majority of his umpiring career and is currently the AFL Umpire Manager.

I know Tim will have a lot of support from his family and friends today as he umpires his 400th. Tim is a great family man and is well supported by his wife Nicole and his two sons, Louis and Lachlan. It is a privilege to have umpired along side Tim and to be part of his umpiring team. Another true gentleman of our great game.

If you get the chance this weekend please congratulate Tim on a great milestone of 400 games.
