Swans teaching young fans a lesson

The Sydney Swans have spread their wings and headed out to local schools in their area to help young fans in the classroom.

Tony Armstrong, Dan Hannebery, Lewis Jetta, Alex Johnson, Luke Parker, Sam Reid and Jackson Potter took time out from their busy training schedule to help Year 5 students from Oakhill Public School with their reading skills.

Teacher, and Swans School Ambassador, Anne Fulton-Boote said the students had a fantastic experience with the Swans players, and she was pleased they had the opportunity to meet some of their AFL heroes.

“We are so lucky to have these fantastic Swans players come to our school,” she said.

“Being a Swans School Ambassador is a great job, but I enjoyed it even more as a proud Swans member.”

The Swans will be visiting more schools across Sydney to introduce their education programs covering the Environment, Leadership and Healthy Choices; they will also work alongside AFL NSW/ACT to help deliver AFL skills programs.
