Sydney South schools go head to head
Top Sydney South primary schools battled it out this week in the Regional Paul Kelly Cup Final.
Only the best in the region made it through to this day and the quality was evident in the tight scorelines across the day.
The Girls Grand Final saw Lilli Pilli Public school face Sans Souci Public School. Although the end score did not truly reflect the intensity of the match, Lilli Pilli prevailed to take the Championship. Final scores were Lilli Pilii 23 6 29 over Sans Souci 0 0 0 .
The Lilli Pilli girls will now move through to the State Final at Blacktown International Sportspark.
Laguna Street Public School and Woolooware Public School faced off in a tight contest for the title of Boys Regional Champions.
The scores were level at 7-7 at half time, but a resurgent Laguna Street returned for the second half to defeat Woolooware 13 7 20 to 7 3 10.
Though the Laguna Street team were crowned the Sydney South Regional Champions for 2012, both teams will move through to the State Paul Kelly Cup Final to be played at Blacktown International Sportspark.
A great day was had by all and all players participated in the spirit of the competition.
