Sherrin swag for UTS Bats

As part of the Swisse AFL Quality Club Program all currently accredited silver clubs are entered into a weekly draw to win six brand new Sherrins throughout the 2014 Toyota AFL Premiership Season.

The club held its inaugural ball on the weekend, but they’ll be celebrating the addition of a different type of ball on the training track at Paddington in the second half of the AFL Sydney season.

The Bats have been chosen as this week’s winner, claiming six Kangaroo brand (size 5) Sherrins (three red and three yellow), valued at up to $720.

UTS Bats President Nick Haslam was understandably elated with the news.

“We’re delighted to receive these footballs as recognition of the work we’ve put in through the Swisse AFL Quality Club Program,” Haslam said.

“As a club with a number of ex-pats who have moved up to Sydney for work without family support so commonly seen at other community clubs, we are a club that prides ourselves on being run ‘by the players, for the players’ so good governance and leadership by our players both on and off the field is paramount to our success.

“Thanks to the AFL and Swisse for their support, we definitely feel better with Swisse.“

The Swisse AFL Quality Club Program provides an opportunity for all community football clubs to achieve a minimum standard of club administration and to recognise and reward clubs for achieving higher standards of excellence.

There are three levels of administrative competency clubs can attain through the program, with prizes on offer for bronze, silver, and gold level clubs.

Bronze – Recognises good club administration
Silver – Recognises excellent club administration
Gold –  Recognises exceptional club administration
