GWS GIANTS AFLW list final for 2018 season

The GWS GIANTS AFL Women’s team for 2018 has been finalised.

Picking up AFL NSW/ACT’s Haneen Zreika and South Australian Tait Mackrill in the Rookie Draft, the club hit their 30 player list limit this morning.

Yesterday, the GIANTS selected Melissa Freckleton from the Western Wolves in the AFL Sydney competition as a free agent.

The final team includes 15 players from the AFL NSW/ACT region, including seven returning local players from the 2017 team.

The GIANTS have also gained the AFLW’s first international player, listing Cora Staunton from the Ladies Gaelic Football league in Ireland as one of their star recruits.

The squad start pre-season training on 20 November 2017.
