Bankstown IEC looks good in Orange

It wasn’t too long ago that local students from Bankstown and Cabramatta Intensive English Centres (IEC) first learned about Australian Football.

A game which was once foreign to them has quickly become part of their new lives in Australia after migrating from countries like Afghanistan, Sudan and Sierra Leone over the past few months.

Through their IEC’s, the students have been given a quick crash-course into AFL learning all of the rules of the game before giving it a go on the footy field.

It didn’t take long for talented sports men and women, traditionally from soccer backgrounds, to get the hang of the game either with some starring performances in the annual IEC Cup earlier this year.

Now, the students have taken their games one step further kitting themselves out in the brightest and best orange sports gear – generously provided by the GWS GIANTS.

The t-shirts will be a handy item for the students who go on to play club football, and for those cheering on the GIANTS in their debut season next year.
