ACT’s Lupton a Flying Boomerang

His role model is Hawthorn hero and AFL Indigenous All-Star Cyril Rioli, and Tuggeranong Hawks teenager Liam Lupton wants to return from his experience with the Flying Boomerangs as a better player and person.
Lupton was the only player from the NSW and ACT selected for indigenous team, the Boomerangs, to compete at the national Under 16s championships on the Gold Coast next month.
The Flying Boomerangs does not just recognise Australian Football skill, but is a program aimed at personal development and leadership for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander boys aged 14 and 15.
A Year 9 student at Melrose High was the ACT’s only representative at the National KickStart under-15 championships in April.
He was most valuable player for the NSW/ACT team, but his selection for the Boomerangs was also based on his leadership skills, community involvement and school attendance.
