EWK too good for North Wagga

EWK flew out of the blocks with three goals to North Wagga’s nil in the opening term and by half-time the Hawks led by 29 points.

The second half belonged to EWK as it ran away with the game with a further 10 goals to put an exclamation mark on the triumph.

EWK had an even spread of goal-kickers with Trent Garner booting four and Nick Hull, who returned from a broken arm yesterday, slotting three majors.

Brenton Roberts also chimed in with three goals while Nathan Scott kicked two goals and Lachlan Jackman was named as EWK’s best player.

Northern Jets bounced back from last week’s loss to Marrar by beating Charles Sturt University by 46 points at Ariah Park Sportsground yesterday.

Northern Jets forward Michael Foster booted six goals in the win while Clint Shield slotted six majors for CSU.

Northern Jets sits two games clear of Marrar in third position on the ladder and the club appears certain to finish with the double chance for finals.

Marrar had a narrow escape yesterday by overcoming Coleambally by two points at Coleambally Sportsground.

Marrar led at every change but Coleambally produced a huge third-quarter fightback to cut the margin to four points at the final change.

Marrar held on in a tense final term and Graeme Reid booted four goals for the day for the Bombers while Brad Turner kicked three majors.

Shane Pound was sensational for Coleambally with five goals.

The Farrer League will have a general bye next weekend.
