Amazing opportunity for Auskickers

Four lucky Auskickers will embark on a trip of a lifetime in the lead up to Saturday’s 2011 Toyota AFL Grand Final between Collingwood and Geelong.

Drewe Barret (Wollongong), Connor O’Sullivan (Albury), Daniel Vardon (Canberra) and Tom O’Leary (Manly) were nominated as Auskickers of the Year this season and have joined 18 other budding AFL juniors in Melbourne for the celebrations.

First stop is the NAB AFL Auskicker of the Year Awards dinner where the four juniors will find out if they’re the winner of the NAB Auskicker of the Year.

The winner will receive $5000 in a NAB Smart Junior Saver account and personal footy mentoring from Geelong star Joel Selwood in 2012.

On Friday, they will take to the streets of Melbourne in the traditional Toyota AFL Grand Final Parade.

The 22 Auskicker of the Year nominees will walk in the parade as a group alongside the two competing grand final teams and a myriad of other AFL legends.

And on Saturday, the four kids will live the dream of every young footy fan when they participate in the Toyota AFL Grand Final pre-match entertainment before playing on the MCG during the half time break.

All Auskickers will later present a premiership medal to a player from the winning team and hear the rousing reception from screaming and cheering fans.

To cap off the day they will step onto the premiership podium in front of 100,000 fans at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) and millions of television viewers across the country.

This is truly an amazing experience for the three budding AFL juniors and well deserved after displaying excellence in teamwork, fun and enjoyment during Auskick this year.
