Liverpool Youth Sports Festival a big success with locals

AFL NSW/ACT in conjunction with PCYC and Liverpool City Council hosted the inaugural Liverpool Youth Sports Festival held at Peter Miller Reserve on Saturday 25 February.

Although the skies were cloudy and grey, crowds were not deterred and the festival was a great success with over 120 kids and parents coming along to be involved in this free community event.

Kicking off at 10am, there were sessions of AFL skills including hand passing and kicking for both kids and parents, along with PCYC sessions of soccer activities before a BBQ lunch.

The kids were also buzzing with excitement as they met the GWS GIANTS mascot G-MAN, although the most thrilling part of the festival was the colour run where the kids ran through an obstacle course while being sprayed with colour.

AFL NSW/ACT Diversity Development Officer Jessica Atoui said, “The festival was a wonderful initiative that brought the local Liverpool community together for a day filled with fun activities”.

“It was great to collaborate with both PCYC and Liverpool City Council and we look forward to working together again.”
