2018 NAB AFL Draft Combine: All local men’s results
The 2018 NAB AFL Draft and State Combines have been run in Melbourne last week with hopeful AFL draftees testing in areas such as agility, speed and endurance, vying for positions on AFL lists in 2019.
While three of our 2018 NAB AFL Draft Combine invitees were unable to test on Wednesday and Thursday last week at the 2018 NAB AFL Draft Combine, five of our State Combine players flew the flag for AFL NSW/ACT, while former GIANTS Academy member, Ely Smith competed in the main event.
Nick Blakey, Kieren Briggs and Jacon Koschitzke all sat out the testing side of the Combine, however still met with AFL club recruiters over the two days.
Previous GIANTS Academy member and 2018 Vic Country player, Ely Smith starred across the various tests during the 2018 NAB AFL Draft Combine. Smith claimed five top 10 results from a possible seven tests and even took out the top honour in the standing vertical jump event reaching 77cm.
On Friday, our 2018 NAB AFL State Combine invitees were able to show their talents in front of club recruiters.
Sydney’s James Peatling and Ryan Hebron, Ardlethan’s Jeromy Lucas, Albury’s Riley Bice and Canberra’s Guy Richardson all competed against some of the best AFL talent coming through the ranks.
Unfortunately, four of the AFL NSW/ACT players invited to test were unable to due various injuries/surgery recoveries including Albury’s Mathew Walker, Nicholas Murray, Joey Reinhard and Adam Tipungwuti.
