Sydney South Paul Kelly Cup Final Wrap
All schools were competing today to be named ‘Sydney South Champion’ for 2014, and go on to compete at the next level at North Dalton Park, in the Illawarra against the Illawarra and Highland’s best.
There was some excellent football played, with six talented young players being awarded the ‘School Sports Star’ award, for outstanding performances on the day, by the Umpires.
The day culminated in the girls and boys Grand Finals, with Lilli Pilli Public School defeating Holy Family Menai 3 10 34 to 1 2 8.
The girls final proved to be a bit of a nail-bitter with Clemton Park Public School and Illawong Public School 1 all at the half time break. But Illawong made it over the line just ahead of Clemton Park in the end with the scores finishing at 3.2.20 to 2.1.13.
Congratulations to all of the schools, and the best of luck to the four schools who will now represent Sydney South against the Illawarra on June 3rd at North Dalton Park.
