Sunrise helps launch Auskick
By Dalton Woods
With a synthetic grass oval, goal posts, handball targets, and a banner for the Auskickers to run through, all that was needed to round out the footy atmosphere was a handful of AFL stars.
Swans premiership players Josh Kennedy and Shane Mumford, and GWS GIANTS young guns Dylan Shiel and Stephen Coniglio, along with 15 local Auskickers, dropped by to perform a few drills with the Sunrise crew.
After a goal kicking exercise, which should give an idea of the sort of fun, skill-based activities to expect in the program, the players showed the kids how easy it is to register for NAB AFL Auskick.
Geelong dual premiership captain Tom Harley joined the Auskickers in the plaza to tell viewers why Auskick is such a rewarding experience.
The NAB AFL Auskick program provides boys and girls across Australia with a fun and safe Australian Football experience that serves as an introduction to a lifetime of involvement in the game.
The program is not just about introducing children to Australian Football – it activates and develops within each child the desire for a healthy lifestyle and helps with the development of personal and social skills.
