Sheedy a star in Broken Hill

GWS GIANTS coaches Kevin Sheedy and Paul Kelly as well as GWS Academy Manager Lachlan Buszard have recently returned home following a development trip to Broken Hill.

While on the long-weekend tour, Sheedy, Kelly and Buszard undertook a range of AFL clinics, met with local councils, discussed the opportunities available for talented athletes through the new Academy program and ran a sportsman’s dinner to help generate money for the local football clubs.

The GIANTS trio also had the opportunity to visit a local footy fan on her 93rd birthday and visit the film sets of Priscilla and Silverton, where Mad Max was filmed.

“The trip was an important part of developing our regional footprint and a great opportunity to assist our local Academy coaches,” Buszard said.

“The GIANTS are looking forward to more trips to regional NSW, including our upcoming tour of the Central West.”
