Shane Crawford to visit NSW Auskickers

Hawthorn legend Shane Crawford will visit make his first appearance as NAB AFL Auskick Ambassador on Saturday August 31 when he visits Auskickers in the Shoalhaven and Illawarra regions.

Crawford, a premiership winner with the Hawks, started his junior football with the Finley Football Club in the Riverina district of NSW. He will begin the day at Shoalhaven Auskick Centre in Nowra, taking part in Auskick activities and running a clinic for the local kids.

Crawford will also address an audience of AFL enthusiasts and be on hand to present awards at the Shoalhaven Auskick End of Year Presentation.

The 305-game veteran will then make his way up from the South Coast towards Illawarra where he will participate in an Auskick Clinic at Hollymount Park. Crawford will stay on after the clinic to address Auskick participants and sign autographs for the crowd.

After finishing his playing career following Hawthorn’s 2008 premiership success, the Brownlow Medallist and modern-day AFL icon began his tenure as a NAB Auskick Ambassador in April of 2012.

Crawford continues to work tirelessly not only in the football community, but also for charity, as evidenced by his recent “Tour de Crawf”, which saw him travel 3600km on his bicycle in 22 days, riding from Melbourne to Perth to raise money for the Breast Cancer Network Australia.
