Riverina win PSSA state carnival

Riverina has strengthened its position as the state’s best AFL region with the team taking out the Primary School Sports Association (PSSA) state carnival for the second year in a row.

The top primary school students from the Riverina were given another tough test in the grand final against MacKillop but were too strong in the end to claim victory, winning 4.5.29 to 2.2.14.

For all students at the PSSA, the three-day event was an experience they will never forget. Students were able to make the most of their time at Blacktown Olympic Park – home of the GWS GIANTS – by interacting with the players.

A number of the kids’ parents also took an interest to the GIANTS and signed up as foundation members.

The Sydney Swans even made the trip to western Sydney to speak to the future stars of the AFL and discuss their new first-class Academy program.

The PSSA brought together over 300 primary school students from 13 regions around the state for three days.
