Premiership Cup tours Children’s Hospital

Sydney Swans Premiership player Tadhg Kennelly was on hand for the final leg of the Virgin Australia AFL Premiership Cup Tour when it arrived in Sydney at the Starlight Express Room at the Sydney Children’s Hospital Randwick.

Kennelly was in his element, as he joined in the craft activities and had a go on the drum-set with some of the hospital’s current patients.

One lucky patient (and avid Swans fan), Phoebe, was celebrating her sixteenth birthday and was elated to meet Tadhg and have the chance to hold the cup.

Another young fan, Addison, had just spent her first month in the hospital and with another twelve months to stay she was glad to make a new friend and pose alongside her family with the cup and Virgin Australia cabin crew member Chloe.

The Virgin Australia Premiership Cup tour first stopped in Adelaide and Perth prior to making its way to Sydney, the final leg on its journey before arriving in Melbourne during Round 23 of the Toyota AFL Premiership Season.

Together the AFL and its official airline and partner Virgin Australia are celebrating Australia’s game and the excitement that’s building ahead of the upcoming final series.

AFL fans are able to follow the journey of the Cup as it travels around the country via the Facebook and Twitter pages of the AFL and Virgin Australia.

In conjunction with the AFL, Virgin Australia also offers flight and ticket packages so fans can support their team interstate via the ‘Any Game, Anywhere’ program.
