NEAFL Grand Final details announced

The AFL wishes to advise the inaugural North East Australian Football League (NEAFL) Grand Final will be held at Traeger Park, Alice Springs this Saturday, September 24 at 6pm (local time) between Northern Territory Thunder and Ainslie.

NT Thunder earned a place in the NEAFL Grand Final by defeating Morningside by 98 points in the northern conference Grand Final while Ainslie defeated Sydney Swans reserves by 52 points in the eastern conference Grand Final.

Former Adelaide Crows champion Andrew McLeod is likely to line up for NT Thunder in the NEAFL Grand Final on Saturday.

The new NEAFL competition was established this year to enhance the quality and profile of second-tier football in New South Wales, Australian Capital Territory, Queensland and Northern Territory.

Seventeen clubs, including the Sydney Swans, GWS Giants, Brisbane Lions and Gold Coast Suns reserve sides, took part in the inaugural competition while other state teams will join NEAFL next year.
