Local Docker heading to Fremantle

Balmain Dockers player Dekka Adams has been announced as a recipient of the “Live the Dream” experience at Dockers HQ in Perth.

Adams is one of 16 boys from across the country who have been given this unique opportunity to experience elite football firsthand.

Adams began playing with the Glebe Greyhounds as a ten year old, and progressed through to senior football with the Dockers. He recently travelled to Perth with Balmain’s under-18 team to play in the Partner Club Challenge at Subiaco.

During his time at Fremantle, Dekka will live the life of an AFL player for 5 days. The cost of the trip is fully funded by the Fremantle Dockers and the program sponsor Decmil Australia.

“I’m really looking forward to travelling to Perth to be part of this fantastic opportunity,” Adams said.

“Balmain’s relationship with Fremantle has given me opportunities that I could only have dreamed of.”

The program activities include:

  • Appointment of a player mentor for each boy involved in the program
  • Leadership training
  • Physical and skills sessions
  • Conditioning and injury prevention sessions
  • Nutritional advice
  • Media training and player welfare information
  • The match day experience with the Fremantle Dockers
