Langford’s long wait over

Will Langford, the son of Hawthorn great Chris will make his debut for Hawthorn on Saturday against the Bulldogs.

A rookie-listed player at the start of the season, Langford was upgraded to the senior list in place of injured star Matt Suckling in June.

Langford is a defender who has continued to develop his game since being rookie-listed by the Hawks under the NSW Scholarship scheme in 2011.

He grew up in Sydney and played for the East Sydney Bulldogs before being recruited from the NSW/ACT Rams state team.

At 187cm, Langford has built a reputation at Hawthorn as being a player who never shirks at the contest and plays a high intensity brand of football.

At the GIANTS, Narrandera’s Zac Williams will play the sixth game for the year, recalled after strong form for the UWS reserves in the NEAFL Eastern competition.

And defender Mark Whiley, from Finley in southern NSW, will play his second game of 2013 for the GIANTS after three appearances in 2012.
