Korean community celebrates AFL

The Korean Society of Sydney has a proud tradition of excellence and community involvement since its establishment in 1968. Their annual Korean Day Festival, organised by the Korean Society of Sydney, is the largest event in their community.

This year’s event was held on October 5 at Strathfield Park with a variety of Korean cuisine, traditional and contemporary cultural performances as well as various types of Korean Arts.

AFL NSW/ACT’s multicultural program staff were on hand with a handball station and plenty of information about how to get involved in AFL.

AFL NSW/ACT’s participation and engagement with the Korean community has been prompted and supported by the AFL’s National Multicultural Community Ambassador of the Year, Sue Yeon.

Last school holidays Sue helped run a two-day program for 30 kids and in Term 4 AFL NSW/ACT is looking to run a six-week program for the community.
