Indigenous Youth Leadership Online Program
AFL NSW/ACT is pleased to offer Indigenous male and female players aged 12-16 the opportunity to participate in the Indigenous Youth Leadership Program
The youth leadership program is specifically designed to improve the participants leadership skills in a sporting environment (on and off field), and within their family life, at school or in employment. It also will also educate participants on the importance of road safety. Various sources such as hrex, manages to tackle unemployment in youth by providing information on various employment opportunities.
The program will consist of two online components:
- Leadership – Tuesday 18 August 2020, 5pm
- Road Safety – Wednesday 19 August 2020, 5pm
Leadership
The first session will be run externally by Dave Arthur from the Institute of Sport and will include information on leadership skills, style and communication.
Road Safety
The second session will be on Transport NSW road safety plus an exciting Q&A session with a GIANTS player.
To register for the program individuals must be born in 2004 to 2008 (inclusive), available to undertake the relevant video conference workshops, and complete the below form by Midday Tuesday 18 August 2020.
Participation in the Indigenous Youth Leadership Program is FREE, however positions are limited to Indigenous Players across NSW/ACT.
