Goal of the Year: Jetta or Dennis-Lane?

Sydney Swans youngsters Lewis Jetta and Trent Dennis-Lane have been nominated for the Panasonic Goal of the Year following the club’s victory over Fremantle on the weekend.

You can view their goals at www.afl.com.au/goal and then vote for your favourite goal which will go into the running for the overall award.

Each week, the best three marks and goals from the previous round as selected by Robert Walls, Luke Darcy and the Nomination Panel will be posted at www.afl.com.au. Fans will be able to view the nominations and vote on the weekly winners.

Robert Walls, a member of the nomination panel will select his weekly nomination from the three marks, while Luke Darcy will make his weekly selection from the three goals. Should the winner of the public vote differ from the mark and goal as selected by Robert Walls and Luke Darcy, both nominations will be included at the end-of-year voting by All-Australian Selectors.

Voting opens for the previous rounds nominations every Tuesday at 12pm and will close the following Monday at 12pm (exact days may change depending on fixture).

At the conclusion of the home and away season, the All-Australian Selection Committee shall select the three best goals and marks from the 22 weekly selections from Robert Walls and Luke Darcy, along with any public selections that differ from Walls and Darcy. The selection will be based on a 5/4/3/2/1 vote given by each member of the selection committee.

The top three selections for the Panasonic AFL Goal of the Year and Hungry Jack’s AFL Mark of the Year will be announced on September 6 2010 during Monday Night on ‘One Week at a Time’ – 9:30pm on Network Ten’s One HD Channel.

All three nominations will then be placed on the AFL website by 12pm on Tuesday September 7 where viewers are encouraged to vote for their nomination for their Panasonic AFL Goal of the Year and Hungry Jack’s Mark of the Year. Voting will close at 12pm on Monday, September 13.

The voters who have selected the same Hungry Jack’s AFL Mark of the Year as the All-Australian Committee and entered their details will go into the major prize draw. The winners will be announced on or before September 25.

The player that wins the Hungry Jack’s AFL Mark of the Year will receive the Alex Jesaulenko Medal plus a year’s supply of Caltex Fuel valued at $2500, while the Panasonic AFL Goal of the Year winner will receive the Phil Manassa Medal plus the ultimate Panasonic Prize Pack valued at $9000.
