To mark the occasion, the club announced a GIANT giveaway including return airfares to Melbourne, one night’s accommodation and two tickets to the MCG to see the GIANTS take on Collingwood.

Rawson was thrilled to be announced the winner and will attend her first-ever game at the MCG this Saturday.

“I haven’t been to an AFL game at the MCG and I have always said I would like to,” said Rawson.

“I am looking forward to the awe of the MCG on game day and the passion that is displayed there by fans.”

Sally will make the trip to Melbourne with husband Grant who is just pleased to be making the trip down south.

“I’m the coach of our son’s Under-9s team, so we had to decide whether the team would cope better without me or him,” said Grant.

“As our team typically scores 10-15 goals more than the opposition each week, we figured they could do without me!”.

Sally grew up in a small country town near Wagga where she developed a love for Australian Rules football.

“My father and brothers were all good AFL players and our family lived and breathed AFL,” said Sally.

“I was a Bombers fan growing up, but have always followed the local team since moving to Sydney (Swans). I got very excited about the prospect of Kevin Sheedy coaching a new AFL team in my local area in Western Sydney.”

The GIANTS are yet to win a game this season, but as a foundation member Sally says the future looks bright at the GIANTS.

“I understand that the boys need a few more pre seasons to match it with the major teams and most of the players are still a few years short of their prime, but I am impressed with their skill and heart, especially the likes of Jeremy Cameron and Will Hoskin-Elliot.”

“If the Giants can keep a significant number of these players together then the future is very bright.”
