AFL Grand Final Footy Festival comes to Sydney

The excitement of the 2024 Toyota AFL Grand Final is coming to Henson Park in the heart of Sydney, so friends, families and footy lovers can come together and watch the biggest game on the Australian Rules Football calendar live, loud and free on Saturday, 28 September.

The iconic location will host a Footy Festival for supporters ready to cheer on the Sydney Swans or to simply enjoy the atmosphere of the Grand Final on a big screen.

Commencing at 10:00am with the West Coast Eagles’ AFLW team training (ahead of their match against the GIANTS at the venue the following day), the licensed Footy Festival encourages people of all walks of life to come to Henson Park.

Young or old, footy fanatic or passing dog walker, there’s plenty of entertainment on offer including the AFL Play Zone, pre-match analysis, ticket and flight giveaways, and even a DJ set from GIANTS AFLW player, Georgia Garnett. Other entertainment will come from the local league, AFL Sydney, with competitions and presentations running throughout the day.

The match will be broadcast on a big screen, with the sound up from the beginning of the pre-match entertainment until the final siren.

Sydney Swans fans will have another option to cheer on their beloved side, with the AFL hosting a separate live site at the SCG for supporters to gather and watch the 2024 Toyota AFL Grand Final.

“September is the best time of the year and it is exciting that Sydneysiders have a place to come together and embrace the 2024 Toyota AFL Grand Final away from the MCG’s hallowed turf,” Head of the AFL Fandom NSW QLD, James Ellender, said.

“Henson Park is an iconic location and the home of AFLW in Sydney. Its natural amphitheatre and wide-open space makes it the perfect place for the Grand Final to be enjoyed by footy fans, families and friends.”

There is no charge to enter the Footy Festival and patrons are permitted to bring in food and drink. No alcohol or glass will be permitted into the venue.
