Government Helps Kickstart Coffs

State Government support is helping Coffs Harbour host a large indigenous and international AFL event next month.

Coffs Harbour member Andrew Fraser has announced a NSW Government grant of $10,000 to AFL (NSW/ACT) for the Kickstart National Championships being held at C.ex Coffs International Stadium from April 11 to 16.

Mr Fraser said the Kickstart Championships will also host the South Pacific Cup and the All Nations Cup, with representation from all States and Territories, Indigenous and multicultural, including three teams from the South Pacific.

“We will see 350 to 400 players, coaching staff, umpires, medical staff and AFL staff, managers and selectors during the five days,” Mr Fraser added.

“Events like this help ensure local athletes and officials have opportunities to compete against the best at the highest level.

“Importantly, the Kickstart National Championships will provide local businesses and tourism operators a valuable economic boost.”
