9s Teams Vying For Jude Bolton Cameo

It all started a little more than a week ago, when the recently-retired premiership captain took to twitter to call out his 25,000 followers.

“RT if you would like to have @lynettec_bolton and I play on your @AFL9s_NSWACT team for 1 game in the Summer Comp 2014!”

The response was encouraging, and Bolton went on to outline the rules to his first social media competition since he and wife Lynette were announced as AFL 9s ambassadors in November last year.

1. Follow @AFL9s_NSWACT on twitter

2. Think up a great team name, and logo, and tweet it to @judebolton, or @AFL9s_NSWACT on twitter.

3. Make sure you use the hashtag #judejudges.

4. Jude Bolton will judge all submissions, and a winner will be announced!

Ever generous, the 33-year-old decided to include a 20 minute dose of his football expertise for the lucky team of 9s players, with a drills and coaching session  to warm up before Jude and Lynette’s guest 9s slot.

Below are some of the early entries received, with “Fellowship of the Ling” tipped to be frontrunners at this stage.

AFL 9s is the AFL’s newest game; an adaption of football played with nine players on each team,  modified rules, a smaller field, softer ball, and no contact.

Men’s and mixed competitions will get underway across NSW and the ACT next week, running for 7 to 10 weeks.
