AFL On Australia Day At YABUN Festival

An audience of between 10,000 and 15,000 is expected to converge on Victoria Park in Broadway for the free event, which runs from 10am until 6pm on Sunday January 26.

YABUN is predominantly a musical event, with a huge wealth of Indigenous creative talent on display.

YABUN is renowned for its artistic line up – presenting some of Australia’s best in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander music from around the country, from well established artists to those just emerging onto the scene.

YABUN also delivers a very current and informative cultural program, presenting panels and speeches by some of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community’s most recognised leaders, academics, politicians, and artists.

Sport is a large part of Australian indigenous culture, and the AFL’s spot in the NCIE sport tent will provide plenty for footy lovers.

The AFL will run games throughout the day, giving out prizes for the best players and participants, including plenty of prizes from the harbour city’s two professional AFL clubs: Sydney Swans and GWS GIANTS.
