Rowe New Magpies Player/Coach

Rowe was selected from a high quality group of applicants for the position.

He will be relocating to Canberra in mid-December to continue with pre-season training which commenced on Monday 18th November.

Rowe is originally from the Wagga region. He is a Wagga Tigers senior premiership player and as an underage player he captained the AFL NSW/ACT Rams in the TAC Cup competition.

In 2013 he held the role of development coach for the Port Adelaide Magpies FC in the SANFL under coach Ken McGregor.

Prior to this, Rowe spent four years at West Adelaide FC as a player in the SANFL where he played 27 league games and 35 reserve grade games. In his time at West Adelaide he also picked up the President’s Award and came 5th in the Reserve Grade Best & Fairest ‘Magarey Medal’ count.

Rowe has had a number of coaching roles in country Victoria in recent years, including two years senior coach at the Marrar Football Club in the Farrer League and one year at the Walpeup-Underbool Football Club in the Mallee League.

Rowe is a level 2 coach and hopes to obtain his level 3 accreditation in the coming years.

In 2014 Rowe will be taking on a playing and coaching role with the Belconnen Magpies and will be well supported by our strong coaching group.

The club would also like to thank assistant coaches James Bennett, John Harper, and Damian Carmichael for their efforts leading up to the start of pre-season.

The Belconnen Magpies congratulate Jeremy Rowe on his appointment and wish him all the best in his new role as NEAFL coach in an exciting time for the club.

The NEAFL team has progressed quickly in recent years, however we fell just short in 2013 losing to the Sydney Swans in the NEAFL Eastern Conference Final.

The Club also won the AFL Canberra Club Championship in 2013.
