Family FUN-DAY with the Swans

It will be family FUN-DAY at a very special price when the Sydney Swans take on North Melbourne on Sunday, July 11 at the Sydney Cricket Ground.

Coinciding with the school holidays, the Swans are calling on all Sydneysiders to round up the family, don the red and white and head to the footy.

Family fun shouldn’t cost a fortune so with a special offer of just $40 for a family pass (for two adults and up to FOUR children) the whole family can be part of the fun as Sydney’s AFL team pushes towards finals action.

On top of this great ticket celebration, purchase a family pass online and you go into the draw to win one of five Sydney Swans family memberships for season 2011.

“One of the best parts about playing at the SCG is seeing families get along and have a great outing together,” said co-captain Brett Kirk, who has four young children.

“The crowd is geared up and it’s a fantastic family atmosphere where everyone is welcome. As players we love hearing the chants and cheering from the fans, and for the fans it’s a chance to spend time with family and friends watching the game live.

“If you haven’t been to an AFL game in Sydney, coming to the SCG on a Sunday afternoon is definitely one of the best ways to experience it.”

Kirk said families should make sure they arrive at the ground early to take part in all the activities.

To warm up before the game, young and old can test their skills on the inflatable big-kick or the hand ball targets at the fan zone on Driver Avenue, right outside the ground.

To get into the team spirit, there will be face painting so kids can make sure they look like true Swans fans, and adults will enjoy the sounds of wandering musicians.

There will be a chance to record a message of support for the Sydney Swans online, or record your own version of the famous Syyyyyd-neeeeey chant for everyone to hear.

The Swans mascot, Cyggy, will be meeting and greeting, as will some of the Sydney Swans players. 

Thanks to match day sponsor Channel 7, fans can have their photo taken on the set of one of the network’s hit shows at one of three green screens around the venue.

And to really make some noise, Citibank Clappers will be handed out on the way into the stadium and you will then be in the running to win a Citibank $1000 Online Saver Account at half time.
