Cunningham, 18, who played one senior game this year against GWS in the inaugural Sydney Derby in March, has been upgraded to the Sydney Swans primary list for the 2013 season.

Sydney Swans Manager – Player Personnel, Kinnear Beatson said Cunningham will boost the Swans’ outside run in 2013.

“Harry offers us that pace and the match committee has been really pleased with his development and attitude in his first year at the Club,” Beatson said.

In other good news for football in the state, New South Wales scholarship holder Daniel Robinson has been added to the Swans’ rookie list for 2013.

Robinson, who is preparing for his Year 12 exams, told sydneyswans.com.au that it was a dream come true to land a spot on the Swans’ rookie list.

“It’s amazing and it’s really exciting,” Robinson said.

“I’ve been here for the last three years on a NSW Scholarship and it’s ended up more than perfectly.

“I’m looking forward to playing and training in a professional environment and just focusing on footy rather than having to balance everything, so it will be exciting.”

Beatson said Robinson was one of the standout performers in this year’s state championships.

“Daniel was one of the better players for the NSW/ACT RAMS during the under-18 competition and impressed us as an inside midfielder.”

Robinson, who attends St Ignatius Riverview and plays for the Mosman Swans and Riverview, is a scholarship player and can be rookie-listed without going through the rookie draft.

Beatson also confirmed that Swans rookie Shane Biggs will be retained as a second year rookie in 2013.

“Shane has done a really good job this year, particularly given he joined the Club so late after being recruited in the rookie draft,” he said.

“He has shown us enough promise as a good sized outside midfielder, so we look forward to seeing how he progresses with a full preseason under his belt.”
