The Kurt Tippett trade is shaping as a deadline special with no further movement happening on Monday.
The trade that looked set to occur last Friday before stalling remains parked with neither Adelaide nor the Sydney Swans prepared to comment on Monday, holding fire until a deal happens.
It is still possible that Sydney’s Jesse White will end up at the Crows as part of a deal that includes pick No.23, the Sydney Swans’ first pick in the AFL National Draft.
Tippett indicated on October 6 that he wanted to be traded to the Sydney Swans, accepting a four-year contract with the reigning premiers conditional upon a suitable trade happening.
But 16 days later the trade is still not finalised. The Gillette AFL Trade Period closes at 2pm this Friday.
Tippett’s move to the Sydney Swans has not progressed, with Adelaide list manager David Noble forecasting it could be a “final hour” deal.
The Adelaide Advertiser says while the Crows have not ruled out Swans forward Jesse White being a part of the deal, they were hoping Friday’s 2pm deadline would force a better offer from the Swans.
“And in the last moments you find things that were not possible early in the trade talks do unfold,” Noble said.
“A coach will suddenly agree to release a first-round draft pick.”
