NSW take out Women’s Champs

New South Wales took out their first division two premiership against state rivals the Australian Capital Territory at the AFL Women’s National Championships in Adelaide last weekend.

It was a fantastic achievement for both state sides to make it all the way through to the grand final. In the end, NSW was too strong to run out 13-point winners.

Victory for NSW also means they’ve been elevated to division one in two years time where they’ll be looking to put an end to Victoria’s impressive winning streak.

For the ACT, it was an unfortunate end to an otherwise successful tournament. They’ll bounce back bigger and better at the next championships and will be hopeful of joining NSW in division one.

Congratulations to the five NSW/ACT players selected in the 22-player All Australian squad. This is a great achievement and well deserved recognition.
