Lloyd’s log – Thursday
Thursday July 4:
Game day. Its finally here, and the boys are pumped.
Started today off with a walk down to the local park and did a few stretches at about 8am.
It was only a 15 minute walk, but it’s a good way to start the morning off, even if it is a very cold Melbourne morning.
Then we headed back to the hotel for a bit of breakfast. We have a fair bit to eat for breakfast on game days, as we need the energy for the game.
After that we get a fair bit of time before we catch have to meet up for our line meetings at 10.30am.
In this time we try not to over-think too much and focus on other things. I like to just chat with my friends and not think too much about the game.
The line meetings we have are just the team splitting into either their midfield meeting, or forward and defensive meetings. They are basically just an opportunity for the coaches to outline what our goals are for the day, and how to execute them.
Something that is mentioned a lot, is that it could be our last chance to wear the Rams Guernsey, so we need to go out their and do it proud and don’t leave anything on the field
The bus is just about to head off to the ground, and this is when I start to get very excited. I don’t normally get nervous, just a little bit anxious to get out there and get the game started.
These are the hardest hours I reckon, just waiting for the game.
The whole team is just really excited to get out there and make a statement about this Rams team, and make up for the disappointing loss against Queensland on the weekend.
