KRAKOUER! The play.

KRAKOUER!
“A brilliant show… bloody funny” Fremantle Herald

Written by award-winning playwright Reg Cribb (The Return, Last Cab to Darwin, Bran Nue Dae), Krakouer! is the compelling true story of Jim and Phil Krakouer who took the Australian football world by storm in the early 1980s.

Originally from Mount Barker in Western Australia, the Krakouer brothers moved to Melbourne to play for the Mighty Kangaroos where their unique and anarchic brand of football captured the imagination of the nation.

Regarded today as two of the greatest AFL players in history, the Krakouer brothers played at a time when racism was rife and Aboriginal footballers were rare.

This is the story of the challenges they faced in their rise to the top of their game; their skill, daring and resilience, both on and off the sporting field, and the controversy and adversity that has met them throughout their lives.

Featuring live game footage and a cracking score of acoustic footy anthems, this spirited production will transport you back to a time when ‘Krakouer magic’ always prevailed!
