The Sydney Swans will take on Essendon in their first home match of the 2011 season, this Sunday, April 3 at ANZ Stadium.

The Clubs will play for the Marngrook trophy, which is currently held by the Swans. The annual Marngrook match played between the Swans and Bombers recognises the important contribution Indigenous players have made to Australian Football.

This Sunday will mark the first clash between new senior coaches John Longmire and James Hird, while Jarrad McVeigh will line-up against his brother Mark for the first time as Swans co-captain.

Not since 2005 has either team won consecutive matches against the other as Adam Goodes and Essendon’s Jobe Watson discuss here….
