All-Australian stars set for Sydney stopover

The likes of Luke Hodge, Joel Selwood, Nic Naitanui, Patrick Dangerfield, Nat Fyfe and Brent Harvey will train at the GIANTS’ Learning Life Centre on Monday November 17 and Tuesday November 18, as the Australian International Rules squad tunes up for its one-off clash with Ireland in Perth.

Swans co-captains Kieren Jack and Jarrad McVeigh (pictured) will be part of a three-strong red and white contingent, with defender Nick Smith also in the side, which is entirely comprised solely of current or former All-Australian players, following a change in eligibility rules.

Fans can attend Tom Wills Oval in Sydney Olympic Park to watch the star-studded squad train on Monday, and play a scratch match against a local Gaelic football outfit on Tuesday, with entry free of charge.

A free barbecue is on offer both days and parking is available next to the GIANTS’ Learning Life Centre (1 Olympic Boulevard, Sydney Olympic Park) in the P3 Carpark.

The centre is also just a short walk from Sydney Olympic Park station.

The Australian team play Ireland in a one-off test at Patersons Stadium in Perth at 5.45pm (WST) on Saturday November 22.

The team will train on Tom Wills Oval from 11.15am-12.15pm
