AFL NSW/ ACT girls All Australians

AFL NSW/ACT would like to extend our congratulations to Angela Prifitis and Jodie Hicks who have been named in the All-Australian team.

The All-Australian team was named at the conclusion of the Championships and featured five players from Vic Metro, two from Vic Country, five from Queensland, four from WA, three from South Australia, two from NSW/ACT, two from the Woomeras and one from the Thunder Devils.

Just shy of fifteen, Angela Prifitis (Maroubra) boasts a level of maturity and leadership far beyond her years.

Prifitis was instrumental to the NSW/ACT’s strong campaign during the championships last week, leading her team on and off the field as co-captain.

The young defender put on a stunning display of football throughout the week and should be commended for her tough yet classy approach to her football.

Having been recently drafted to the Melbourne Football Club, Jodie Hicks (Hay) is no stranger to success.

The 18 year old midfielder is highly respected within the football community and is known for her ability to run hard at the ball and be consistently first to a contest.

Hicks offers much needed expertise to the side, mentoring the young girls in her role as team captain.

Her attack on the footy, remarkable ability to read the play and her off field leadership will be sorely missed by the NSW/ACT side, when she graduates to play with the big guns later this month.
