Under-16 & 17 Academy Series’ set for weekend’s play

The NAB AFL Under-16 Academy Series will wrap up this Saturday as the NAB AFL Under-17 Academy Series gets underway.

The Sydney Swans Academy will play the GIANTS Academy in both matches set for Blacktown from 11am.

In the first match of the day, the GIANTS will be looking for their first win against the Swans in the Under 16s, having forgone a late-lead in last week’s Round 2 match.

Following the Series, the Under-16 AFL NSW/ACT Rams side will be announced early next week.

The Under 17s will kick off their Academy Series immediately following their Under-16 counterparts at 1.10pm.

Though many of the players have already competed this year as a part of the NAB League, it is a chance for some to play their first game in 2019 at this level.

This will be the first and only match of the Under-17 Academy Series before the AFL NSW/ACT Rams side is announced for the NAB AFL Under-17 Future Series beginning in July on the Gold Coast.
