The Allies have flown into Adelaide ahead of Round 2 of the NAB AFL U18 Championships where they will take on South Australia on Saturday.

The Allies put in a strong performance last weekend against Vic Country, but were ultimately defeated by 12 points. There are a couple of forced changes to the team this week after the tough encounter at Blacktown International Sportspark caused some Allies injuries.

Luke Robertson from the Sydney Swans Academy comes out of the side after breaking his leg in the opening term against the Vics, seeing him stretchered from the field. GWS GIANTS Academy member Charlie Spargo is also a late scratching with a shoulder injury.

Brayden Crossley (Suns), Harry Simmington (Suns) and Jake Hinds (Tasmania) are the other outs for the Allies.

Into the team come two Swans Academy members in Luke Skrivanic and Harrison Carr, who will be hoping to cement their position in the side for the rest of the competition. Joining them are Bailey Scott (Suns), Thomas Mundy (Tasmania) and Matthew Green (NT) in the other changes.

Some of the most impressive performances last week were from the GIANTS’ Nicholas Shipley, Tom Highmore and Jarrod Brander who will all be ones to watch again this weekend.

South Australia lost by one-point to a strong Western Australian side in Round 1 of the Championships, and will be looking for improvement against the Allies.

The game is a wonderful opportunity for the Allies to play on Adelaide Oval as the match sits as the curtain raiser for the Port Adelaide and Brisbane Lions encounter.
