Young Leader traineeship applications open

AFL NSW/ACT is delighted to announce our Young Leader roles are open for 2022 across NSW and the ACT.

Young Leader roles

There are multiple Young Leader roles across Sydney, ACT, Hunter/Central Coast and Southern NSW.

We are looking for outstanding individuals wanting to launch a career in sports administration and/or sports development.

A specifically designed program will introduce the trainee to all aspects of the AFL NSW/ACT business with a focus on customer service, events, leadership and working with volunteers.

You will be trained by experts in their field to support local clubs and competitions.

The successful applicant will be employed by AFL SportsReady, but will work on-site with AFL NSW/ACT and receive an accredited Certificate III in Business qualification (on successful completion). The traineeship will commence in January 2022 and you will work full-time (38 hours per week) for the duration of the school year whilst completing the qualification to compliment the on the job learning.

Bachar Houli Employment Program – Multicultural Programs Trainee

The Bachar Houli Employment Program recipient will work across Greater Sydney, based at either Blacktown or Moore Park.

The role will see a young person engaged in Australia’s Islamic community work across the AFL industry for 12 months, gaining critical work experience and job skills.

The traineeship is focused on connecting new migrants and refugees as well as Indigenous communities to the game of AFL. The position will have a community focus and work with the regional game development teams to build sustainable school and community programs across the Indigenous and multicultural portfolio.

The successful applicant will be legally employed by AFL SportsReady, but will work on-site with AFL NSW/ACT and receive an accredited Certificate III in Business qualification (on successful completion). The traineeships will commence in January 2022 and you will work full-time (38 hours per week) for the duration of the school year whilst completing the qualification to compliment the on the job learning.
