Women’s finals heat up
Sydney Women’s Australian Football League
Division 1
The Preliminary Final between UNSW-ES and Balmain Dockers will kick off at 10am at Blacktown international Sportspark on Sunday.
UNSW-ES have had a stellar year, jumping several spots from their 2011 season results and will play the 2011 and 2012 Premiership-winning team Balmain Dockers to secure a place in the Grand Final against Minor Premiers, Sydney University.
Division 2
The undefeated Macquarie Uni Women’s side take on Southern Power at 12.15pm on Sunday at Blacktown International Sportspark.
AFL Canberra Women’s competition
In Canberra, the AFL Canberra Women’s season will culminate in Grand Finals for both senior women’s divisions and also for their Youth Girls competition.
All games will be played at Greenway Park, with the Youth Girls to kick off at 8.30am on Sunday – Division 2 at 10.00am and Division 1 at 12.00pm
Youth Girls
The Youth Girls Grand Final will be between Ainslie Black and Ainslie Red with the two sides capping off a strong year for participation in youth girls football for the club.
AFL Canberra – Division 1
Eastlake, the reigning 2012 Premiers, will take on Tuggeranong for the Division 1 Grand Final.
AFL Canberra – Division 2
In what will be the first year of divisional football for AFL Canberra, relative newcomers Queanbeyan willplay in their first Grand Final against Australian National University (ANU).
